just like Oprah
I'm sitting here at my desk, held mercilessly captive until my render is complete. Oh, I could go somewhere, but then what if there's a crash? This is one of my most un-favorite things to do. Ever. One day, maybe renderings will be a thing of the past. Maybe I can build a render farm. No matter. Rendering sucks, no two ways about it. I just want a 25 second shot. Why does it take After Effects 52 minutes to give it to me?
So, in the middle of one of my least favorite things, I've decided to compile a list of my MOST favorite things. These are just little "plug-ins" to my life that have enhanced it somehow. First, is my
Moleskine notebook. I've become so much more productive with idea generation since I've started carrying this little guy with me, especially to the gym. Can't break it, it's hard drive can't crash. Next, is
Psunami. It's the reason my render is taking so long, but geez, the results are worth it. My
12" laptop on my list. I am able to be so much more productive when I have this little guy on me. Need info? It's there. Idea you want to run through Photoshop? It's there. It weighs 4.4 lbs., it's wireless, it's NOT a powerhouse. But it's always there.
To compliment the laptop, there's
RadTech's screen cloth. I hate a dirty screen. Almost as much as I hate country music. This fixes problem #1. Next is my
iPod mini. My godly wife gave me one for my birthday, and it's become an invaluble tool in getting me to jog more often. And listen to sermons / podcasts. View my inner geek.
There's just a little insight. Nothing deep, but it burned 5 minutes. Now for that other 47 left before the render's done...
