Finale night, and ASCII Generator.
Tonight was the season finales of both Lost and Alias. Despite cliffhangers on both; a good time was had by all. We hosted wing night amongst friends. The wings were a'plenty,
Julie prepared a wonderful dessert, and the entire finale celebration took place outside.
The evening started with my iPod patched through my
Altec Lansings, and a custom mix I pulled together for the evening. Selections included George Clinton and Parliment, Hexstatic, Layo and Bushwacka, Coldplay, Faith No More (always a classic), The Chemical Bros., and Digable Planets (tugging on the familiar).
Now for the setup: when you're the
AV Club, you have connections... we ran cable TV and power into my backyard and set up an outdoor theater (speakers, subwoofer, multiple TVs, the works).
Setup only took about 30 minutes, and everything worked the first time. (amazing)
The result:
Right here, no one's looking. Still, you can see the TVs and tiki torches.
My son lifting a cell phone from Jared. I don't know if I approve of this new thievery hobby he's picked up.
Last shot, of the TV... It's Charlie! (I tried to get a great shot of the Lost opener... it would have been the perfect setup for this post, but by the time my camera was up, all I saw was "OS"... too late).
The whole endeavor was great fun, and I don't think I ticked off my neighbors too terribly much. To be on the safe side, I did warn them beforehand, and asked that if we were too loud, to please come tell us. Luckily, they're all Lost fans, and completely understood.

And just for fun... file
this under "some more retro fun". I remember these back in the day, and it took much, much longer to do then.
