the Path text effect... under Advanced... Jitter Settings... (adjust the randomness... and Typewriter).
Duplicate a layer (like text) and offset by 1px in Z-space. Then parent together. 3D layers are 1px thick, and therefore this acts as a 1px extrude. Continue adding layers to extrude deeper.
